Best Served Chilled and_ _ Lost Penguins continue to battle for the fastest team - they are frog hopping each other throughout the day! It has been a tough day of constant false
summits over Bathurst - it is a relentless but amazing and_ _ beautiful place to travel. Many teams have now gone through Polar Bear Pass and_ _ the two lead teams have made it off
Bathurst Island_ _ to the sea ice to make a clear run for CP1.

Polar Challenge 2008 has started! At 10am teams set off from one of the world s toughest race start lines， to begin a race over hundreds of miles of frozen Arctic Ocean to the
1996 Magnetic North Pole and_ _ beyond. There was excitement in the air as all teams departed on the incredible journey ahead. In the first positions update_ _ Lost Penguins are in
the lead， followed by Best Served Chilled and_ _ The Holiday Club. All other teams are progressing well.

On the second day of racing Best Served Chilled have taken the lead over Lost Penguins. Competitors have experienced mixed weather conditions， including flat light and_ _ building
winds - but now are enjoying sun and_ _ blue skies. Gamania saw a polar bear this morning which they moved away safely. Teams are now beginning to cross polar bear pass during
today and_ _ tomorrow.

The third day of the mini expedition - competitors have an even longer ski today， they are building up slowly to race fitness. During the race they must cover a minimum of 13.5
nautical miles per day （on average）， the fastest racers may be doing up to 25 and_ _ on a really good day even 30 nautical miles per day. Also today racers had their first
experience of rubble - weaving through lumps of ice， up down and_ _ around!

At the end of their penultimate day on the walk to the start line， competitors have their longest day yet - 16.3 nautical miles. It has been a long cold day， competitors have
spent a full day skiing into the wind. All are tired but working hard， they are now really getting to grips with their tent routines - which if they get them really slick could
save them an hour of time each day on the race. Tomorrow competitors will reach the startline - all are in good spirits.
